Pigeons
In a car park I use often, the open roof on the top floor has been meshed over to stop the pigeons getting in and doing what they do best. Occasionally one does get in and finds it impossible to get out..they keep flying up but can't get past the mesh. What has always struck me as odd about this is the fact that all they have to do to escape is fly down one level where they would find a huge entry and exit..but they never do. They are, I guess, programmed to fly in one direction only and they never think of trying something else to escape their plight.
Sound familiar?
